Long, long ago, the mighty Goddess Parvati was preparing for a bath on Mount Kailash.
She wanted someone to guard her door so that no one could disturb her peace.
Since Lord Shiva, her husband, was away, Parvati decided to create a son all by herself!
She took the dust and essence from her own body, mixed it with her divine power, and molded it into the shape of a beautiful, strong boy.
She breathed life into him, and he immediately stood up.
Parvati smiled and told the boy, “Go, my son, and guard this door.
Do not let anyone—absolutely anyone—enter.
” The loyal boy bowed and took his position, holding a mighty staff.
Soon, Lord Shiva returned home.
He started to walk toward the house, but the boy stopped him immediately!
“Wait!
My mother, Goddess Parvati, is inside, and I cannot allow you to enter,” the boy declared bravely.
Lord Shiva was surprised by this courageous, strange boy who dared to stop him.
The boy was simply following his mother's command, showing true devotion and duty.
